The only waiting move that preserves this block is <b>1 Kb8!</b>, as the other king moves either self-pin a mating piece or obstruct a mating square: <i>1 Kb7?</i> Kd6!; <i>1 Kd7?</i> Kf6!; <i>1 Kd8?</i> Kd4!; <i>1 Kc7?</i> Kf4!.
