Save Our Souls, Jake Hoover!
ResponderExcluirHahahaha 🆘
ExcluirWhatever. This is EASY.
ResponderExcluirThe key is 1 Kh5! threatening 2 Rg6. 1 ... g5 unpins the white queen and allows 2 Qc6, while 1 ... Rxa5 unguards b5 and allows 2 Qxb5. (The try 1 Kg6? unpins the white queen to threaten 2 Qc6 but 1 ... Qd3+! refutes.)
Well done, Jake!!
ExcluirHolzhausen also has a type of interference named after him. In a Holzhausen interference two black like-moving pieces interfere with each other along different lines.
ResponderExcluirThanks for sharing this info, Jake.
ExcluirI would like to see an example of this Holzhausen interference.
ExcluirWhat I posted earlier contains a slight error.
ExcluirA Holzhausen interference is actually when one black piece interferes with a like-moving one on a different line. The situation I described, where the pieces interfere with each other, is a Wurzberg-Plachutta interference and is essentially a pair of Holzhausen interferences.
